Фьючерсный контракт (futures contract) на рынке финансовых фьючерсов (financial futures market), типа Лондонской международной биржи финансовых фьючерсов и опционов (London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange), которая предоставляет возможности торговли фьючерсами и опционами (options), ориентируясь на индекс 100 акций фондового рынка “Файнэншл таймс” (FT-SE 100 Index) и индекс 100 Европейского фондового рынка “Файнэншл таймс” (FT-SE Eurotrack 100 Index) (см.: Financial Times Share Indexes (индексы курсов акций газеты “Файнэншл таймс”)). При операциях на базе FT-SE 100 Index торговая единица равна 25 ф. ст. на пункт индекса. Если, например, фьючерсный контракт покупается тогда, когда индекс показывает 2400, оплата покупателя эквивалентна покупке акций на 60 000 ф. ст, (25 ф. ст. 2400). Если индекс возрос на 100 пунктов, покупатель может продать соответствующий фьючерсный контракт по этому уровню, получив 2500 ф. ст. прибыли (25 ф. ст. 100). При сделках на базе FT-SE Eurotrack Index торговая единица равна 100 немецким маркам на пункт индекса. См. также: portfolio insurance (страхование портфеля ценных бумаг).
